The focus on this area is because there are so many high school graduates who desire to go to college/university after completing high school but they don’t have access due to lack of financial resources. The Government of Zambia has introduced free education from elementary to high school which has seen many young people complete high school.
However, the challenge comes when most of these high school graduates cannot access tertiary education even after having obtained good grades due to financial constraints. Government incentives such as loans and scholarships for tertiary education have proven to be insufficient. This is why Kalapula PAMO Foundation aims at supplementing these efforts to ensure that every underprivileged high school graduate has access to tertiary education.
“This I believe can only be achieved if all of us privileged in different ways can come together to help the less privileged” - Ms Kalapula
